Chapter 4: Bragg, Building Beds, Bob, And Baptism

Hello everyone! This week was kind of chill but kind of crazy at the same time. 
 

On Wednesday, we got to give a tour of the Visitor's Center to a group of 8-12 year old boys from one of the wards around here. They were so cute, and we talked about covenants. And I taught them some hand signs to remember their baptismal covenants, and it was so much fun! 

 
Then on Thursday, we had a mission wide conference with President Bragg of the Seventy!! He is in charge of the northwestern missions, and he came to speak to us. It was literally so amazing! We mainly talked about how important it is to teach our friends about the Sabbath Day and invite them to church. So cool story, while he was speaking I kept thinking about our friend Bob. After the conference was over, we decided to text him and invite him to church, and he said yes!!! It was so cool to see how important it is to act on spiritual promptings. Anyways, that night we got home and decided to bake an apple pie at 9:30 even though it takes like an hour to cook. And then we had it for breakfast the next morning, so it was pretty chill. 
 

Friday was amazing! I got a message in the morning from one of our really good family friends saying that she was in Portland! So I was able to go and see her which was such a blessing. It was like a little taste of home. Then our friend Sean got a priesthood blessing, and it was such a cool experience. The Spirit was so strong, and it has helped him a lot recently. 
 

On Saturday, we had exchanges, so me and Sister Davis stayed here and Sister Plumb came to join us. We had a pretty great day, but we got yelled at so that wasn't fun. But all in all, the exchange was a very good experience and I learned a lot. 
 

On Sunday, I got to give a little talk in sacrament meeting because somebody got sick. So I had a few hours notice, but I think it went really well. And it gave me a little boost of confidence because I realized that I can talk in front of people. And Bob came to church!!! And he seemed to really enjoy it, so hopefully he will be back. Then while we were at the Visitor's Center, I got to talk to the sweetest young woman. She was outside just sitting, so I went and talked with her and we had such a nice conversation. She actually had just gotten off of her mission the day before, and was looking for some peace. Anyways, it was just awesome to sit with her. Then the day ended with a bang! Sean texted us and asked about getting baptized!!! We were all freaking out! So hopefully we can talk with him soon about it. 

 
Then yesterday we had an amazing district council, and then we went to Mod Pizza. So 10/10 day. 

 
Funny story: so I have been sleeping on a mattress on the ground because we didn't have another bed frame thing. But on Sunday night our Zone Leaders brought a frame, but we had to actually put it together. So me and Sister Davis went to work, and (not to brag) but we were like really good at putting it together. So yeah... if you ever need a bed frame put together you know who to call haha. 

 
Little Spiritual Thought: prayer is such a prevalent part of being a missionary, and I have loved seeing my prayers become more sincere. And having more sincere prayers has strengthened my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. So I encourage all of you to have more meaningful prayers at night.

Chapter 45: Just Living Life

Hi family, friends, and fellow missionaries! I hope you have all had a wonderful week. This week has been crazy and fun all at the same time.  We went to go and visit a man named Omar that the Elders were teaching before we started covering the area. So we knocked and he let us in! We were so excited to talk to him and teach him, and then it kind of went downhill from there haha We didn't get a word in pretty much the whole time, and he just talked all about how there are so many words, including Jesus Christ, that have so much pagan influence to them that he refuses to say them. So half of our conversation, he was just spelling words at us. So.... it was a really interesting conversation, and we were glad to be out of there. Chapter 52: Elder Gong And Zoey’s Baptism=Best Saturday Ever!

Hello everyone! This week was really busy, but we saw lots of really cool miracles.  Saturday was literally so crazy, but it was so amazing. We had a mission wide devotional with Elder Gong!! We all had the opportunity to shake his hand and talk with him for just a minute. He is so sweet, and he had such a special spirit about him. He spoke a lot about taking care of each other and that we are called to be here. It was such an amazing experience, and you can tell how much he loves the Lord and this wonderful Gospel.  That same day, just about 1 hour after, Zoey got baptized!! It was so crazy having to drive back to the church building and get everything ready. We quickly found out that we didn't have keys to the closet with the jumpsuit that Zoey needed to wear, or to the font itself. Thank goodness the Elders were there and loaned us their key. Chapter 53: New Skills Unlocked

Happy Wednesday everyone! We took our turn in the Visitors' Center this Monday, so we get the rest of our P-day today!  Last Wednesday, for our Visitors' Center Training, we had the opportunity to help on the grounds of the temple. With a few other Sisters, we helped plant Vinca, commonly known as Periwinkle, by the reflection pool. It was really fun to be able to help the gardeners make the temple look beautiful. After we were done, the head gardener, Brother Yates, shared his conversion story with us. It was so cool to hear how the Gospel had changed him, and how he had helped others come closer to Christ throughout his life.  This week, we got to go on exchanges! I stayed here in our area, and Hermana Barnes came with me. It was such a fun day, and we saw so many different miracles. We had a lesson with our friend, and she was able to receive a priesthood blessing. It was a very powerful, spiritual experience for her and for us. Then, she came to church on Sunday!! We also ...
