Chapter 5: What Even Happened This Week?
Hello everyone! I had to look in my journal to figure out what happened this week because I don't remember haha.
On Wednesday, we got to give a tour at the Visitor's Center to a sweet old lady named Marilyn. We just spoke about temples and the importance of covenants. It was such a good tour, and it was nice because you could tell that it really touched her. I just love the temple!
We also got to do a lot of service this week. We got to help rake leaves, pick up apples, and I got to mow some guys lawn. But the lawn mower was a push mower, so it was a workout just to get that thing moving. Even though it was a lot of work, it was nice to help each of them.
Then we got to give a tour to our friend Bob. It was so amazing! We had one of our members come with us, and he basically taught the lesson for us. His testimony was so strong, and he really connected with Bob. It was so good, and then Bob came to church on Sunday!! He seems to really enjoy church. He has told us that he doesn't see himself ever getting baptized, but then he told us he likes talking with us and reading the scriptures. So we are very hopeful!
On Sunday, we were at the Visitor's Center and a man who spoke at the MTC when I was there walked in. His name is Aaron and he is so awesome! It was nice to see him again, and to be able to talk with him on a more personal level.
Yesterday, my companions took me to see somebody in our apartment complex. His name is Frank and he is so cool! He was in a band in the 70's called Jacob's Ladder, and he played the guitar. He was such a cool guy, and it was so much fun hearing all of his stories and experiences. We invited him to come to a concert on Monday, so hopefully he comes!
Funny story time! So our dryer hasn't been drying well at all. It takes like 2 or 3 cycles in the dryer for stuff to actually dry. So the other day, I asked my companions about a lint trap. Apparently it hadn't been cleaned out for a while, so I took it out and there was like 1 inch of lint buildup. So basically it is by the grace of God that our dryer didn't go up in flames haha.
Spiritual thought- I have loved going back and reading the General Conference talks from this last conference. They are so amazing, and I have learned so much as I have read them over again. I invite all of you to go back through and read or listen to the talks. I know that you will notice things you hadn't before and it will be exactly what you need to hear.
Also I hit two months out this past week, so super exciting!
Have an amazing week! Love you guys!
