Chapter 10: P-day On A Thursday?

Image
Hello everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week! You are receiving this email today because each companionship in the Visitors' Center has to take a turn being in the Visitors' Center on P-day, so it was our turn this Tuesday. Since we are giving up part of our p-day, we get to take an extra 5 hours of p-day another day, and that day is today. (hopefully that makes sense)    This past week was great! We got to celebrate Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday. We got fed by two families in the ward, so we were rolling into the apartment by the end of the day. It was nice to reflect and think about what I am thankful for. There are so many things, but I'm thankful for my family, the temple, and the opportunity I have to be a missionary.    Friday was absolutely insane! We got to do service for our friend Brian. We looked outside and it was sunny, so we were excited. Until we walk out the door and it is 32 degrees outside, and Brian wants us to help him wash his ...

Chapter 9: A Baptism On My Birthday!

Hello everyone! This past week was pretty great!    We had zone conference with our half of the mission on Friday, and it was so amazing! I learned so much, and I got so much guidance from the wonderful speakers. They also fed us some absolutely incredible food, and I ate way too much. But that's ok.    Sean got baptized on Saturday!! Which also happened to be my birthday, so it was the best present ever. It went really well, and he was beaming the whole time. It has been so rewarding watching him grow in the gospel and become the person he is today. He also got confirmed and received the Aaronic priesthood in sacrament meeting on Sunday! I am so excited to see him continue to grow in the Gospel.    Then yesterday we went on exchanges. I stayed in Lakeridge, and Sister Hyde came with me. It was so fun, because we were companions in the MTC, so we were back together again! I also drove for the first time since being out on my mission, and I did pretty good. ...

Chapter 8: Life Is Pretty Good!

Happy fall everyone! I hope you all had an incredible week!    This week has been pretty good. The Visitor's Center is still amazing! We were able to give some really fun tours this past week, and it is so nice to share my testimony of the temple so often.    Sean is still the best! His testimony is so strong, and he loves the Gospel so much. We have had some really great lessons with him this past week. One cool story is that we taught him the restoration, and we asked him to pray and ask if Joseph Smith was a prophet and the Book of Mormon is true. Then he said, "oh I already believe in that, but I will pray because you asked me to". We were just like, ok that's awesome! And he is getting baptized on Saturday!! We are so excited! It is amazing to see how the Gospel has transformed his life and given him so much clarity and peace.   One other cool thing is that we got to teach Lorelai again! She is the young woman that the family in our ward has been bringing t...

Chapter 7: Here's The Bottom Line, Our Trios Down To Two

Image
Hello everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week!    Like my title says, and I hope you read it as Timon sings it haha, transfers happened! Sister Weber left, so now it is just me and Sister Davis. It's weird going from a trio to a duo because I'm used to having two other people around me instead of just one, but it's all good!    Since last Tuesday was Halloween, we weren't allowed to be out proselyting, so we had a mission party. We got to watch Tangled, and it was one of the best movies I have ever seen in my entire life. I was so emotionally exhausted after it though haha.    Sad news, we aren't teaching Bob anymore. He wasn't progressing, and he had a hard time accepting the Gospel Doctrine. However we hope that one day he will be able to be taught again, and he will accept the Gospel.    Sean is still doing amazing! He is so incredible! We asked him to read Alma 40, and he read the entire book of Alma in one morning! He loves the gospel so...
