Chapter 11: Service, Lessons, And Singing In The Rain
Hello everyone! This week has been so great!
We had an in person lesson with Kyle, and it was really good! We stood outside in the pouring rain and talked about the Book of Mormon and Jesus Christ for like 20 minutes until we went inside. Then when we gave him a Book of Mormon, he was so excited to read it! He literally invited himself to read it everyday, so that was really cool.
Then, we decided to walk around a few neighborhoods and see if anybody was out and about that we could talk to. We ran into Sarah, who told us she wasn't interested in hearing a message about Jesus Christ. Then as we were walking away, she asked if we were Mormons. We said yes, and she goes well come on in! We were so surprised, but she told us that she has a friend who is a member that taught her to be kind to the missionaries because we are away from home. She gave us sparkling water and a granola bar, and told us to come back if we needed anything. Then we met Sophie! I have been having a hard time talking to people we meet about the Gospel, but I was determined to talk to one person. And I did it! Sophie was really sweet, and we got her phone number which is exciting!
We did a ton of service this week, and it was so fun! We helped our friend Debbie clean her kitchen, then she gave us a whole bunch of random stuff including a cursed Santa stocking. But don't worry, we left it at our zone leaders door, so we got rid of it. Then we helped our friend Laurie unpack some stuff, and then she took us out for pizza. Finally, we went and raked up Sean's leaves for him, which was good, until it started pouring! We were trying to get it done fast, but wet leaves don't move very fast. We were absolutely soaked by the end of it, but he was super grateful which made us happy.
We had another lesson with Lorelai on Sunday, and we taught her the Doctrine of Christ. It went so well, and the Spirit was so strong. The family that has been bringing her bore their testimonies, and it was so powerful. Then she texted us yesterday and said she might want to be baptized!! It is so exciting!
Yesterday, we got to go on exchanges! I went with Sister Larsen to Stafford, and it was so much fun! We went to Jimmy Johns and crumbl cookie which wasn't the best idea, but it was good. We also had a Christmas Concert at the Visitors' Center, and I got to sing a song. It was stressful, but it ended up going really well. The exchange was kind of hectic, but I learned a lot.
Little Spiritual Thought- my favorite video to watch during Christmas is The Christ Child. I invite all of you to watch it because it always brings the Spirit.
This week was so busy, but it was awesome!
I love you all!
