Chapter 12: Toga Party!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week and have stayed warm. This week was kind of wild.

I was able to give a tour at the Visitors' Center on Wednesday, and it was amazing! Alex and Lily were so sweet, and they really loved the idea of doing baptisms for the dead. Hopefully they will continue to learn and grow in the Gospel, so they can enter the temple one day. After the tour, this guy came in with his wife and they fed us some homemade soup. It was absolutely delicious. Then he had these little stones called agates, and he said he would give us each one after we told him "our story". Well I didn't really have a story, so I just told him that I have been a listener my whole life because I am pretty shy. Then he gave me an agate with a bunch of little dots on it, and told me that I was a story collector because I listen. And all the little dots were stories I have collected throughout my life. It was really cool. The day kind of ended on a sad note because Kyle texted us and said he didn't want to talk to us anymore. It's sad, but we were able to plant the seed. Hopefully, missionaries one day can water and help it grow when he is ready.

Friday was also a crazy day! We went up to the top part of our area, which is all gated mega mansions that are surrounded by hedges. And I'm not kidding when I say I may have seen the white house. Then we came back to help set up for our ward Christmas party. Sister Latour planned it, and it was insane. The theme was Now Let Us Go Even Unto Bethlehem, and she had a Bethlehem market with foods relevant to that time. Also, she had togas there for everybody to wear, which was really fun. There was also a caterer who is classically trained in French cuisine. He was so cool, and gave us all the leftovers. Which is awesome!

Spiritual Thought- we have been having Christmas concerts at the Visitors' Center four days a week, and listening to the music brings the Spirit so strongly. I invite all of you to add some spiritual Christmas songs to your playlists this season. I know it will bring the Spirit and help you feel closer to our Savior.

Have an amazing week! I love you all!
