Chapter 15: Happy New Year!
Hello everyone! Happy New Year! This week has felt so long but so short at the same time.
On Wednesday, when I was at the Visitors' Center, I met Katie and McKay. They were so sweet, and Katie's parents are the temple president and matron of the Brigham City Temple! Which is the temple I went through for the first time. We had a wonderful discussion about temples and the blessings that they bring into our lives. It was so awesome to meet them, and I know that it wasn't a coincidence.
We were able to go over to Sean's house this week and have a lesson with him about the temple. It was so awesome because we got to bring a young man from our ward who will be leaving on his mission in a few months. The lesson went really well, and hopefully Sean can get a temple recommend soon. Then a few men from the ward came to give Sean a blessing and it was such an incredible experience. The Spirit was so strong, and he was so grateful.
On Friday, we had zone conference. Which is when half of our mission gets together and we hear from the mission president, his wife, and other missionaries. It was absolutely incredible, and I learned so much. Then after, we were on a spiritual high and decided to knock on this one door. The young man that answered wasn't interested, but he knows one of the young men from the ward and had gone to Seminary a few times! So, we are planning on going to Seminary sometime this week and talking with the youth about inviting their friends to come more often.
We were finally able to have another lesson with Lorelai after all the Christmas craziness has died down. We taught her about the restoration, and it went really well! She loves learning, and she told us that she feels the spirit when she reads the Book of Mormon which is incredible!
Yesterday, Sister Davis wasn't feeling well, so I got to go on a surprise exchange with some of the other sisters. It was really fun, and I got to see what their area was like. We had a really nice lesson with an older couple in their ward who shared their conversion story with us. It was so awesome, and I got to know Sister Winters better which was great!
Spiritual Thought: One thing I learned at zone conference was- HE>i. Which means that He, Jesus Christ, is greater than me. He can do anything and everything, so we should lean on Him and remember Him. I invite all of you to adopt this thinking into your lives, and I know if you do, it will bless you in so many ways.
I love you all so much and make some good attainable goals for the New Year!
Love
- Sister Willie
