Chapter 23: Sun's Out... And Now It's Gone Again

Image
Happy p-day everyone! This past week was pretty busy, and we got a couple sunny days which was such a blessing after constant gray skies.  I have some pretty exciting news!! Lorelai's mom might let her get baptized! She wants to come to church with her and might come next week. Hopefully she will feel the spirit and her heart will soften, so Lorelai can be baptized. Lorelai is still doing absolutely incredible, and I have been so blessed to see her progress and grow.  We knocked quite a bit this week and met some really nice people. They weren't interested in hearing a message, but we were able to talk about their beliefs and it was cool to hear about their faith in Jesus Christ. One person we met, said we could come back a different day, but we haven't been able to catch her at home. However, we are keeping our fingers crossed, and hopefully we can share a message with her soon.  On Friday, the sun was shining, so one of our less active members asked if we could meet her...

Chapter 22: 6 Months!

Image
Hey everyone! I hope you all had an absolutely incredible week! I hit 6 months tomorrow, which is so crazy!  We had Zone Training and interviews with President and Sister Botchway this week, and it was really good! And President Botchway loves to cook, so he made us this giant feast after training was over. It was really good, and one thing he made was goat stew. All I can say is that you can't knock it tell you have tried it, it was so good! Sister Vance and I were given the task of being kitchen sisters for a little bit, so we got to help switch the pans around and change the temperature on the ovens. So if you ever need some culinary assistants, you know who to call.  On Thursday, we got to go and stop by Brian, who is a member that has been inactive for quite a few years, and he told us that he has been reading the Book of Mormon!! It has been so amazing to see his progression from the first time that we met him. The Gospel has brought a certain sense of light to his perso...

Chapter 21: Little Miracles!

Image
Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope that you all had a fabulous week.  One really cool miracle from this week is that we decided to go knock by this media referral that wasn't interested. We saw a house with their lights on, and we were able to talk with the man who answered the door. He wasn't interested in a message, but he asked if we had a leaflet or brochure. So we gave him a Book of Mormon! We are planning on going back in a few weeks to see if he has read anything from it. It was such an awesome little miracle!  We were also able to have dinner with a part member family this week, and it was a really sweet experience. The message that we decided to share was about how faith can bring miracles, and the mom, who is a nonmember, shared an incredible story with us all about a miracle she had seen. It was such a powerful experience, and I felt the Spirit.  Another really great thing that happened this week is that we have a new friend we are kind of teaching! She is the moth...

Chapter 20: *Insert Funny Subject Line*

Image
Hey everyone! Hopefully this past week has been amazing. I honestly can't remember what happened this week haha We had zone council and talked about Preach My Gospel. Which honestly, is such an amazing resource for anyone, so if you aren't a missionary right now, I highly encourage you to read through it. Then we went and got Panda Express after, which is always a 10/10.  On Friday, we had dinner with the cutest family in our ward, and the husband is not a member. However, we shared a message with them about the Book of Mormon, and he bore a simple testimony about how reading it has blessed his life and helped him. It was such a cool experience! Then we had the opportunity to help one of our friends clean up the apples in her backyard. We got to talk as we raked up the soggy moldy apples that were all over. But she really appreciated it, which made it all worth it.  Spiritual Thought: I really love Elder Gary E. Stevenson's talk from this past General Conference, especially...

Chapter 19: Transfers!

Image
Hey everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week. This week has been so crazy and busy, and we took our turn in the Visitors' Center this last P-Day. Which is why you are getting this email today!  This past week was transfers, and I am staying here in Lakeridge. But, I have a new companion! Her name is Sister Vance, and she is amazing! I am so excited to serve with her this transfer, and I will keep you all updated on the little and big miracles that we see throughout the next 5 weeks!  This past week we finally got to meet with Teresa, who is a lady that we have been trying to meet with for such a long time. It was so nice, and she is so sweet! Hopefully we can go back and share a message with her soon! Then on Sunday, we had a lesson with Lorelai, and it went so well! She is absolutely incredible, and she told us that she might want to go on a mission someday! And she isn't even baptized yet, so it was really awesome. We invited her to read a chapter in the Book of Mormon, ...
