Chapter 23: Sun's Out... And Now It's Gone Again

Happy p-day everyone! This past week was pretty busy, and we got a couple sunny days which was such a blessing after constant gray skies.

I have some pretty exciting news!! Lorelai's mom might let her get baptized! She wants to come to church with her and might come next week. Hopefully she will feel the spirit and her heart will soften, so Lorelai can be baptized. Lorelai is still doing absolutely incredible, and I have been so blessed to see her progress and grow.

We knocked quite a bit this week and met some really nice people. They weren't interested in hearing a message, but we were able to talk about their beliefs and it was cool to hear about their faith in Jesus Christ. One person we met, said we could come back a different day, but we haven't been able to catch her at home. However, we are keeping our fingers crossed, and hopefully we can share a message with her soon.

On Friday, the sun was shining, so one of our less active members asked if we could meet her at a park for our lesson. We pulled up to the address in our missionary attire, and it is a bunch of hiking trails. We ended up hiking these muddy trails, in dress shoes, for about an hour while our less active member talked about how she is trying to bring down the CCP (Chinese communist party). It was definitely an adventure, but being out in the sun was really nice.

We got to help one of our members move some boxes from their house to a storage unit because some trees fell on their home. We had to get suited up in masks and gloves because there was insulation and the chance of asbestos in the house, hehe. However, we were able to get it done quickly and it worked out wonderfully in the end.

Spiritual thought: This week I had the opportunity to read and study Jacob 5 a little bit. For those who aren't familiar with the Book of Mormon, Jacob 5 is the longest chapter and it is an allegory that can be difficult to understand. While I was reading, it was so incredible to see that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us so much that they will do anything to help us flourish and grow. I know that I have seen Their influence in my life so much, and I know that They are there for each one of us.

Have an absolutely awesome week everyone! I love you all!
