Chapter 31: God Is So Good
Hello everyone! This week has been so incredible!
We had transfers this past Friday, and I am staying here in Gaarde. But I got a new companion, and it's Sister Weber! She trained me my first transfer, so it's such a fun reunion! She is so awesome, and I'm so excited to work with her this transfer! We also are the only sisters in our zone, so it will be an adventure! Right after we went to transfers, we went to a party that our Marshallese group was having. We showed up an hour and a half late, and it still hadn't started. They had a whole roasted pig and a giant clear tote full of potato salad. It was crazy but really fun to see everyone!
Sunday was full of so many miracles! We went to visit someone that had been previously taught, and we met Ivan! He talked with us for a long time, and he was so open to the Spirit. We gave him a Book of Mormon, and we are planning on going back within the next couple of weeks! Then as we were walking back to our car, we knocked on a door and met two young girls who said we could come back next Sunday! In the evening, we met Rod! He was so awesome, and we were able to give him a Book of Mormon and refer him to the missionaries in California where he lives. Sunday was also my 8 month mark, which is so crazy!
Yesterday, we had the opportunity to visit one of the Marshallese women in our ward, and she is the sweetest thing! She gave us flower crowns that she had made, and we had such a spirit filled conversation with her. Her faith is so admirable, and she bore such powerful and sincere testimony.
One little tender mercy this past week is that I ran into someone I gave a temple tour to last transfer. She was coming to do baptisms for the dead for the first time, and it was so nice to see her! She remembered me and we had a short and sweet conversation with each other. It was so awesome!
Spiritual Thought: I studied charity this past week, and I read this scripture in D&C 88 verse 125:
"And above all things, clothe yourselves with the bond of charity, as with a mantle, which is the bond of perfectness and peace."
I love how this verse says we need to clothe ourselves with charity. We all need to put on the pure love of Christ, and share His love with those around us.
Have a fabulous week! I love you all!
Love,
- Sister Willie
