Chapter 44: Queen of Beaverton
Hello everyone! I hope you all have had a great week. On Sunday, I hit 11 months as a missionary! Time has flown by, and it is so crazy!
This past week has been very busy with lots of different meetings, but they were all really good. We had Zone Conference this week where a big group of missionaries get together and learn more about how we can come closer to Jesus Christ and how we can help the people we are teaching progress towards baptism. The Spirit was so strong, and I loved the emphasis they had on following the Spirit and giving our all to being missionaries.
This week, we were able to give some amazing temple tours! One was to a guy named Itai, and he was so cool! He had such a desire to learn and to grow, and he gave all the Sisters a flower after because he was so grateful we took the time to show him around. Yesterday, we gave a tour for some Elders that we get to serve with. Their friend Bree was really sweet, and it was such a beautiful tour.
We were finally able to meet with our friend Jan this week, and she shared a verse from The Book of Mormon that she had read and liked! It was so awesome to see how she was able to find answers and peace through The Book of Mormon. She also came to church on Sunday, and she really liked it! She is such an amazing person, and she loves the Gospel so much already.
Funny Story: we went on a hike last p-day and as I was huffing and puffing my way up the mountain, it was decided that I was the queen of Beaverton, which is the area I am serving in right now. I still don't know why because I couldn't hear over my heavy breathing, but I guess it is what it is haha
Spiritual Thought: One of the scripture stories we talked about at Zone Conference this week is the story found in Matthew 4:18-22, where Jesus calls a few of His Apostles. I love how they all abandoned their nets and followed Jesus. It made me ponder on what I need to leave behind. I want to invite all of you to pick something in your lives that you can give up to better follow Jesus Christ.
Sorry for the short email, today was really busy. Love you all! Have a great week!
Love,
