Chapter 46: Jeremiah, Judah, Jimmy, And Jesus

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a great week and were able to stay cool.

This week we got a referral, where somebody fills out a form online to meet with us, for a man named Jeremiah. We called him and gave him the information for church. And he came to church on Sunday!! It was so awesome! He really liked it, and the members of our ward welcomed him so well. We were able to talk with him after church and give him a Book of Mormon. He wants to read it and learn more about the church, and he also said he would be back next Sunday! It was such a miracle!

On Saturday, we were serving at the Visitors' Center, and a summer sales bro came in and told us there was a college kid filming a video of the temple and he had some questions for us. Sister Rice and I grabbed a Book of Mormon and hurried out to talk to him. His name was Judah, and he was so cool! He had some really good questions and was super interested in the temple. We gave him a Book of Mormon, and he said he wanted to read it! It was such a cool experience to talk with someone like that while we were around the temple.

At church on Sunday our friend Jimmy told us that he really wants to quit smoking. He decided that he needed to make God a bigger part of his journey to quit. He told us that he was going to forgive himself for what he had done, and pray everytime he had the desire to smoke. It was so incredible to hear him talk about how he wanted to change and the plan he was going to use to accomplish it.

One funny story from this week is that we visited a member of our ward who hasn't come to church in a very long time, and she has a young son. When we were over there she said that her son was really excited for us to come over, and he had asked her if he could marry a Sister Missionary one day. It was so cute, and now we know all about his dinosaur collection.

Spiritual Thought: "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory." (1 Nephi 14:14)

I read this verse a couple of days ago, and I really loved it. I love how it says that those who have made covenants with God will have power and be armed with righteousness. I know that our covenants can bring so much power into our lives, and as we keep them, that power will be made manifest.

I love you all!! Have an absolutely incredible week!

Love,
- Sister Willie
