Chapter 47: This Week In Beaverton

Hello everyone! 

One really cool thing that happened this week is that we were finally able to get into contact with a man named Riley who the Elders had given a Book of Mormon to. We have been texting him, but no response. So we decided to call him, and he answered and was super interested in joining a Book of Mormon study group that we have on Wednesday nights! It was such a miracle, after we had tried for so long to get in contact with him. 

On Sunday, we had a lesson with our friend Zoey. She told us all about her week, and how she had went to Girls Camp and loved it! When we asked her what her favorite part was, she said that her favorite was testimony meeting on the last night. It was so sweet! Then during our lesson we talked all about the temple and how we can do baptisms for those who have passed away. She really wants to do that, and now she is just trying to pick a date when she can get baptized! It is so exciting! 

Yesterday, we gave a tour around the temple to a friend that the Elders in our zone brought. His name is Kevin, and he is so cool. He was so open to sharing his thoughts and the impressions that he had received. Throughout the tour, he had lots of kind of difficult questions, but it was so cool to see how I was able to bear my testimony of restored truth and how that helped answer his questions.

One kind of crazy thing that happened this week was that we had so many people "trauma dump" on us. Which is where people tell us all the struggles that they have or are having. We honestly have no idea why, but it happened so many different times this week it was so crazy. 

Spiritual Thought: For Come Follow Me this week, we read the story of Captain Moroni and how he lifted up his Title of Liberty to show what mattered most to him. At the Visitors' Center we have weekly Family Home Evening where we read the chapters for the week together. We were invited to write down our own Title of Liberty and put it somewhere we can see it. So I want to invite all of you to do that as well!

Chapter 45: Just Living Life

Hi family, friends, and fellow missionaries! I hope you have all had a wonderful week. This week has been crazy and fun all at the same time.  We went to go and visit a man named Omar that the Elders were teaching before we started covering the area. So we knocked and he let us in! We were so excited to talk to him and teach him, and then it kind of went downhill from there haha We didn't get a word in pretty much the whole time, and he just talked all about how there are so many words, including Jesus Christ, that have so much pagan influence to them that he refuses to say them. So half of our conversation, he was just spelling words at us. So.... it was a really interesting conversation, and we were glad to be out of there. Chapter 52: Elder Gong And Zoey’s Baptism=Best Saturday Ever!

Hello everyone! This week was really busy, but we saw lots of really cool miracles.  Saturday was literally so crazy, but it was so amazing. We had a mission wide devotional with Elder Gong!! We all had the opportunity to shake his hand and talk with him for just a minute. He is so sweet, and he had such a special spirit about him. He spoke a lot about taking care of each other and that we are called to be here. It was such an amazing experience, and you can tell how much he loves the Lord and this wonderful Gospel.  That same day, just about 1 hour after, Zoey got baptized!! It was so crazy having to drive back to the church building and get everything ready. We quickly found out that we didn't have keys to the closet with the jumpsuit that Zoey needed to wear, or to the font itself. Thank goodness the Elders were there and loaned us their key. Chapter 53: New Skills Unlocked

Happy Wednesday everyone! We took our turn in the Visitors' Center this Monday, so we get the rest of our P-day today!  Last Wednesday, for our Visitors' Center Training, we had the opportunity to help on the grounds of the temple. With a few other Sisters, we helped plant Vinca, commonly known as Periwinkle, by the reflection pool. It was really fun to be able to help the gardeners make the temple look beautiful. After we were done, the head gardener, Brother Yates, shared his conversion story with us. It was so cool to hear how the Gospel had changed him, and how he had helped others come closer to Christ throughout his life.  This week, we got to go on exchanges! I stayed here in our area, and Hermana Barnes came with me. It was such a fun day, and we saw so many different miracles. We had a lesson with our friend, and she was able to receive a priesthood blessing. It was a very powerful, spiritual experience for her and for us. Then, she came to church on Sunday!! We also ...
