Chapter 48: Another Transfer Gone

Hello all you children of God! I hope you had a great week! This email is coming to you today because our pdays got changed from Tuesdays to Mondays.

Every Wednesday morning, we have Visitors' Center Training. When all the sisters and senior couples get together and train on skills that can help us when we are in the Visitors' Center. Except this week, we got to do baptisms for the dead as our training! It was super fun to do with all the Sisters and help those who have passed away make their first covenant with God. Also, one of my friends from home is serving in the Eugene mission, but she was coming up to the temple when I was going to be doing baptisms. It was such a miracle, because after I finished getting baptized and confirmed, I walked up to the main floor to try and find her. And as soon as I opened the door from the stairwell, she was standing right there! It was so awesome to see her, and I know that the Lord timed everything just perfectly.

This past week, I was able to go on exchanges, and I got to be an Hermana for the day in the Spanish area. I was with Hermana Barnes, and it is her first transfer as a missionary, so she was pretty nervous about her spanish skills. However, the exchange went so well, and we had a lot of fun together. We were able to get in contact with some less active members and they told us that we could come back! We also had a lesson with one of their friends, luckily it was in English, and it went really well! I loved getting to serve with her for a day!

Today, we got transfer news, and I am going to be staying here with Sister Rice! I am excited to keep working and serving in this area with her, and I am excited for the miracles that we will see. Also, I can't believe that I am saying this but... I hit my one year mark as a missionary on Wednesday! It is so crazy how fast time has flown by, but I am excited to keep pushing forward in serving the Lord.

Spiritual Thought/End of Transfer Thought: This transfer has been a huge learning experience for me. I have experienced a lot of new things including training and covering two wards. In some stressful moments, I tried to push forward by myself and do everything on my own. However, as this transfer has come and gone, I have come to realize that I need to rely on the Lord for help and strength. When I included Him in trying to overcome these challenges, I found that everything always seems to be better. It doesn't get easier, but I am able to walk through it better. I know that as we turn to Jesus Christ in our hard times, He will be there to help lift and strengthen us.

I hope you have a great week! Love you all!

Love,
-Sister Willie
