Chapter 49: A Bible, A Public Speaking Book, And A Dictionary
Hello everyone! Today has been so crazy, so this email will be kind of short, sorry about that.
This past week we were able to have a lesson with two of our members, Kathy and Dee. They were literally the sweetest! Dee really likes rocks, and he had a bunch of really cool ones all over the house. And then before we left, he gave both of us three small rocks! They are clear quartz, citrine, and amethyst. It was so sweet, and we had such a wonderful discussion about the temple and all the blessings that come from it. It was such a wonderful experience!
This past week was transfers and on the same day, I hit one year as a missionary! I can't believe I hit a year. It has been such a wonderful time in my life, and I am excited for these next six months. To celebrate hitting a year, we had a Sister lunch and all went out together. It was a super fun time, and we got to say goodbye to Sister Andersen because she was getting transferred. I am so grateful for all of the amazing missionaries that I get to serve with and the impact that they have made in my life.
One funny story, is that we went to visit a woman that the Sisters found on exchanges. She let us in, and we were able to share the Book of Mormon with her. While we were telling her about it, she told us that she already had three Bibles, and that she wanted to show them to us. One of them was indeed a Bible, but the other two were a public speaking book and a dictionary. So that was really interesting haha But she said that she would read 3 Nephi 11, and that we could come back again to follow up about how it went!!
Spiritual Thought: Recently, I have gone back and studied the talks from General Conference. This week, I read quite a few, but one that stuck out to me the most was by Elder Gong called All Things for Our Good. I loved it so much! I love how he talked about that if we have faith in Jesus Christ, then we can face life with confidence and not fear. I want to invite all of you to read his talk sometime this week, and I know that you will be able to gain insights from it that will help you.
I love you all! Have a wonderful, fabulous week!
Love,
- Sister Willie
