Chapter 51: Will You Be Baptized?
Hello everyone! I hope that you had a great week and saw the Lord's hand in your life.
Last Monday, we went to visit our friend Zoey, and she is so awesome! During our lesson, we decided on a date for her baptism!! She is getting baptized this Saturday!! She is so excited to be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! It has been amazing to teach her and watch her grow. It is going to be a little crazy getting everything ready, but we are very excited for her to make her first covenant with God.
Update on Jimmy: he is still working towards quitting smoking, and he decided that if he isn't off of them by the 16th he is quitting cold turkey. He is already doing really well, and yesterday in our lesson he decided that he needs to start praying more. He even told his niece that he was getting baptized, which is so exciting! Keep praying for him, and I will keep you all updated on how he is doing!
This week at the Visitors' Center we got to give a tour to a woman named Mary, and she was so sweet! She really loved the peace that the temple brought, and when we walked up to the reflection pool she said, "Ok, I want to be baptized. Give me the white jumpsuit, dunk me right here." It was so cool to see how the temple helped her feel the Spirit and understand how the temple is such a special place.
Spiritual Thought: I was reading a talk from President Eyring yesterday called Our Constant Companion, and one of my favorite quotes from it says:
"Now, your experiences will be unique, and the Spirit will guide in the way best suited to your faith and capacity to receive revelation for you and for those you love and serve. I pray with all my heart that your confidence will grow."
I love how the Spirit speaks to each one of us in a unique and personal way, and that as we follow the promptings we receive we will become more confident.
Have an absolutely wonderful day and week!! Love you all!
Love,
- Sister Willie
