Chapter 55: Round 4 In Beaverton
Happy October everyone! I hope that you all had a great week!
We had transfers this past week! I stayed here in Beaverton, and Sister Rice got transferred. So I have a new companion named Sister Knerr! She is super awesome and I am excited to serve with her this transfer!
This past week we were able to meet with Jimmy a couple of times. He is continuing to push forward and recognize that he needs to have more faith if he wants to quit smoking. When we visited him yesterday, he picked November 7th as his new baptismal date that he wants to work towards. We talked about how we need to grow our faith by doing the small and simple things each day that will build our foundation on Jesus Christ. We invited him to pray every morning and every night and ask God to help him and to give him strength. Please keep him in your prayers as he is working towards making his first covenant with God!
This past weekend was General Conference!! I was so excited to hear from our prophet, apostles, and other leaders of the church. We texted all of our friends and gave them the link to watch it. And then miracles happened!! Two of our friends, who we weren't expecting to watch, watched it and liked it!! It made me so happy when we got their texts saying that they had watched part of it. God is in the details of our lives, and He will help all of His children hear from His mouthpiece on Earth.
Spiritual Thought: I wanted to share one of my favorite talks from General Conference. There were so many that I really enjoyed, and it felt like they were written just for me. One that really stuck out to me was Kristin M Yee's from the Saturday Evening Session. She talked all about repentance and how we can change to become better. I love how she said that repentance brings purity, and purity brings power. It is so amazing to me how we can always be forgiven and have the chance to improve each day. When the talks are available for us to read, I would love to invite all of you to take the time to reread a talk that stuck out to you. I know that as you do, you can feel the Savior's influence in your life.
I hope everyone has a great week!! Love you all!!
Love,
- Sister Willie
