Chapter 66: Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful day!

We had transfers last week, and my new companion is Sister Hailstone! She is also from Utah, and she is literally so sweet. I have already loved serving with her and experiencing her kind and thoughtful spirit. I am excited to serve with her this transfer, and I know that we will see miracles. And another little fun fact is that this transfer is 7 weeks long, and it is sadly my last transfer which feels so unreal to say. But I am excited to work hard in Glendoveer with Sister Hailstone!

This week, we have been trying to meet with our friends so Sister Hailstone can get introduced to them. And we have had some really amazing lessons with them. We had a wonderful lesson with our friend Mary, and we were able to find out a few of her concerns. Then she came to church on Sunday with her son! It was such a miracle and I am excited to continue to teach her and her son about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

On Thursday, we got to serve at the Visitors' Center, and we had such a cool experience. Four people who weren't members of the church came in and wanted to learn more about the temple, so we were able to talk with them and explain more about it and what he do inside. It was super awesome, and we gave two of them Chinese Books of Mormon! They were really appreciative, and as they were leaving they said that we were really kind and really beautiful, so that was kind of funny.

Today, we were able to have an all day preparation day, so we got to spend the first part of the day with the other missionaries that serve in Gresham. We had breakfast, did a white elephant gift exchange, and played some games together. After we were able to have a wonderful dinner with the Lightning family. They were so sweet, and the dinner reminded me of a dinnertime I would have with my family, so it was super great.

Spiritual Thought: "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:10-11)."

I am so grateful that I was able to serve as a missionary during this Christmas season, and I love the angel's words to the shepherds as they were told of the birth of Christ. These words can apply to us today, because Jesus Christ brings us joy, and all we have to do is go and find Him. I know that He will be there waiting for us with the peace and happiness that can only be found through Him.

I love you all! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Love,
- Sister Willie
