Chapter 2: Think Celestial
Hey everyone! This past week has been so busy, which is good.
On Wednesdays, I get to work at the Temple Visitor's Center, and I gave my first tour last Wednesday. And it was so awesome! The couple that came in were so excited to learn about eternal families, and the husband kept saying how our message was so full of hope. It was so amazing, and the Spirit was so strong during the tour. It was so cool to see the light of Christ in him. He is on date to be baptized, and it is so exciting! It is amazing to see how the Gospel can change people's lives.
On Thursday I had my very first zone conference! It was just amazing to be surrounded by missionaries as we listened to our mission president and his wife talk. The messages that were shared were exactly what I needed to hear.
Anyways, we were able to do a bunch of service for people this week, which is so fun! One is a man in our ward, who's dad was a jazz musician in Hollywood. We are helping him sort through and organize his music. It was so cool to see all the songs he had written. Then we helped a guy move into the ward, and we got to help one of our friends with some housework. I even got to help one member vaccum out his truck haha. It has been nice to be able to serve others this past week.
Then Saturday and Sunday were General Conference!! Conference was so amazing! I got to watch it with some members in the ward on Saturday, and then on Sunday I watched it at the visitor's center. All of the talks were so amazing! Some of my favorites were Elder Bednar's, Elder Uchtdorf's, Sister Freeman's, and of course President Nelson's. They were all great talks, and like President Nelson said, I encourage all of you to start thinking celestial. I have reflected on my life with this mindset and it is crazy how much it changes your point of view. Thinking celestial will help all of us come closer to Jesus Christ.
Also another big takeaway I got from General Conference is how important it is to center our lives on Jesus Christ. And to make Him our foundation and rock we can lean on during hard times. I am trying to get better at this, and I have already had some great experiences that have strengthened my faith and testimony.
One more cool story before I close. We went over to one of the member's houses because she had some temple names for us. We sat and talked for a while, and then Sister Weber asked to play the piano. She played a song, and then after the sister tearfully told us that she had been having a rough day. And that song had brought her peace. It was such a heartfelt moment, and I was so glad we got to help her feel the Savior's love for her.
Have an amazing week!!
Love you all!
