Chapter 30: Tender Mercies Are Everywhere

Happy Wednesday everyone! You probably weren't expecting this email today, but I was serving in the Visitors' Center yesterday. So I hope this is a welcome surprise.

This week has been full of little miracles and tender mercies. Two elders in our zone met a Marshallese woman named Estara a few weeks ago, so they sent us her information since we work with the group. We have been trying to meet her and set up a time to share a message, but we have been unsuccessful. However, on Monday we got in contact with her and when we asked if we could come back she told us to come inside! We talked for a little bit, and we gave her a Book of Mormon. She told us that she believes in Jesus, prays all the time, and loves reading the scriptures. It was so awesome, and such a tender mercy from the Lord.

I got to go on exchanges again this week! I was with Hermana Christiansen in our area, so I knew how to speak the language. It was such a fun exchange and so many little miracles happened. We were able to get in contact with a lot of people, and we were finally able to have a lesson with two of our recent converts. They are both children, and their mom is always working, so we haven't been able to go over much. However, we finally set up a time to go over, and we had a really good lesson with them about the sacrament. They had the sweetest thoughts to share, and it was a lot of fun!

Even though I am not in Lakeridge anymore, I have to share a miracle that happened! In case anyone has forgotten, Lorelai is a young girl that I was teaching who is amazing! She really wants to be baptized, but her mom said no. However, last Sunday Lorelai's mom came to church with her and said that she could get baptized!!!! The Lord truly does answer our prayers, and I am so excited for her to make that promise with God!

Spiritual Thought: On Monday I read Elder Uchtdorf's talk from the most recent General Conference, "A Higher Joy". It was absolutely amazing, and one of my favorite lines is when he says:

"If we seek reasons to be angry, to doubt, to be bitter or alone, we will find them too. However, if we seek joy—if we look for reasons to rejoice and to happily follow the Savior, we will find them."

I love how he says if we seek joy we will find it. I know that life is hard and it may seem like there is no joy to be found, but I know that there is always something to be joyful about. And that we can find true joy as we come closer to Jesus Christ.

I hope you all have a great week and find those little moments of joy each day. Love you all!

Love,
- Sister Willie
