Chapter 42: Happy Late 4th Of July!

Hello everyone! 

We got to give a temple tour to one of our friends, Linus, this week. Our mission president, his wife, and our ward mission leader came. It was a party! We were able to teach him more about the temple and he really wants to be sealed to his family one day!

Happy (late) Fourth of July! We were in the Visitors' Center, and our wonderful directors, The Brooksbys, made us a little spread! It was so nice! We also got to visit with some cute families that came in, and enjoy the air conditioning that the Visitors' Center offers. It was also the last day that I got to serve with Sister Weber, who is one of my trainers. She has made such an impact on me, and I will miss her so much! 

On Saturday, we went on exchanges, so I got to be with Sister Andersen in Maplewood! We did a lot of knocking doors, and we met some nice people, even though none of them were interested. We also got roasted by an 8 year old kid, so that was super fun. Overall, the exchange was really good. Sister Andersen is a great missionary, and I really loved spending the day with her!

Our mission moved transfer day to Wednesdays, so we got transfer news this morning! I am going to be staying in my area, but I am going to be training a new missionary! I am really nervous but also really excited. We also get to cover another ward as well, so it will be something new for the both of us. I am excited for this new adventure! 

We are currently in a heat wave, so everyday has been really really hot. Me and Sister Williams have started to sleep on the floor of our roommates room since they have air conditioning. It has felt like one big sleepover, and it has been really fun even though we are all really hot. 

Spiritual Thought: I have continued to study grace, and I read a really good talk by Elder Uchtdorf this week. It is called the Gift of Grace. It really helped me understand how much God's grace can help us in our lives. The talk is incredible, and I want to invite everyone to read it because it helped me so much this week.

Chapter 66: Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful day!  We had transfers last week, and my new companion is Sister Hailstone! She is also from Utah, and she is literally so sweet. I have already loved serving with her and experiencing her kind and thoughtful spirit. I am excited to serve with her this transfer, and I know that we will see miracles. And another little fun fact is that this transfer is 7 weeks long, and it is sadly my last transfer which feels so unreal to say. But I am excited to work hard in Glendoveer with Sister Hailstone!  This week, we have been trying to meet with our friends so Sister Hailstone can get introduced to them. And we have had some really amazing lessons with them. We had a wonderful lesson with our friend Mary, and we were able to find out a few of her concerns. Chapter 16: Saturday P-Day!

Hey everyone! I was at the Visitors' Center on Tuesday, so I have the rest of my P day today! Since it has been so long, I don't really remember what has happened, but I will share some highlights.  We have a new person that we are teaching! His name is Cooper and he is so cool! Sister Davis found him on exchanges so the first time I met him was at a scripture study group. He is interested in learning more, and we gave him a Book of Mormon!  Also, we stopped by our friend Brian's and we brought one of our members with us and they really hit it off! Hopefully, he will come to church now that he knows somebody. We are keeping our fingers crossed!  Another cool experience, we had a lesson with a super sweet older lady who is the mom of a member. She isn't interested in joining the church, but it was nice to talk with her and learn more about her beliefs. Chapter 61: Beaverton --> Gresham

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a great week! We had transfers this past week, so I had to say goodbye to all of our friends and ward members in Beaverton and Summerlake. It was bittersweet, but I am so grateful for all the relationships I have made serving in these two wonderful wards.  I am now serving in Gresham in the Glendoveer ward!! I am companions with Sister Webb! She is super awesome and I am really excited to serve with her. Gresham is on the opposite side of the mission from my last area, so it is really different. But I know that this is where the Lord needs me to be and I am looking forward to all the people I will meet and serve!  I have already been able to meet quite a few of our friends and have lessons with them. Our friend Mary is so sweet, and we were able to have a really good lesson with her about the sacrament and baptism.
