Chapter 61: Beaverton --> Gresham

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a great week!

We had transfers this past week, so I had to say goodbye to all of our friends and ward members in Beaverton and Summerlake. It was bittersweet, but I am so grateful for all the relationships I have made serving in these two wonderful wards. 

I am now serving in Gresham in the Glendoveer ward!! I am companions with Sister Webb! She is super awesome and I am really excited to serve with her. Gresham is on the opposite side of the mission from my last area, so it is really different. But I know that this is where the Lord needs me to be and I am looking forward to all the people I will meet and serve! 

I have already been able to meet quite a few of our friends and have lessons with them. Our friend Mary is so sweet, and we were able to have a really good lesson with her about the sacrament and baptism. She has the desire to be baptized, so we are hoping to help her make her first covenant with God soon! We had two lessons with our friend Annalisa this past week, and she is super sweet. She is from Romania, so we gave her a Romanian Book of Mormon and taught her about it! She has been reading from 3 Nephi and she really loves it! She is the sweetest, and I am excited to keep teaching her. I already love our friends so much and I look forward to seeing them learn more and progress. 

Spiritual Thought: I have loved rereading and studying the talks that were given at this last General Conference. This past week, I read "Ye Are My Friends" By Elder David L. Buckner. One of my favorite lines from the talk says: 

"We must live our life so that the world does not see us but sees Him through us."

We live in a very crazy world, and it is so important that we share the light and love of Christ with everyone we see. It is so important that we share the Gospel with others through our actions as well as our words.

Chapter 45: Just Living Life

Hi family, friends, and fellow missionaries! I hope you have all had a wonderful week. This week has been crazy and fun all at the same time.  We went to go and visit a man named Omar that the Elders were teaching before we started covering the area. So we knocked and he let us in! We were so excited to talk to him and teach him, and then it kind of went downhill from there haha We didn't get a word in pretty much the whole time, and he just talked all about how there are so many words, including Jesus Christ, that have so much pagan influence to them that he refuses to say them. So half of our conversation, he was just spelling words at us. So.... it was a really interesting conversation, and we were glad to be out of there. Chapter 52: Elder Gong And Zoey’s Baptism=Best Saturday Ever!

Hello everyone! This week was really busy, but we saw lots of really cool miracles.  Saturday was literally so crazy, but it was so amazing. We had a mission wide devotional with Elder Gong!! We all had the opportunity to shake his hand and talk with him for just a minute. He is so sweet, and he had such a special spirit about him. He spoke a lot about taking care of each other and that we are called to be here. It was such an amazing experience, and you can tell how much he loves the Lord and this wonderful Gospel.  That same day, just about 1 hour after, Zoey got baptized!! It was so crazy having to drive back to the church building and get everything ready. We quickly found out that we didn't have keys to the closet with the jumpsuit that Zoey needed to wear, or to the font itself. Thank goodness the Elders were there and loaned us their key. Chapter 53: New Skills Unlocked

Happy Wednesday everyone! We took our turn in the Visitors' Center this Monday, so we get the rest of our P-day today!  Last Wednesday, for our Visitors' Center Training, we had the opportunity to help on the grounds of the temple. With a few other Sisters, we helped plant Vinca, commonly known as Periwinkle, by the reflection pool. It was really fun to be able to help the gardeners make the temple look beautiful. After we were done, the head gardener, Brother Yates, shared his conversion story with us. It was so cool to hear how the Gospel had changed him, and how he had helped others come closer to Christ throughout his life.  This week, we got to go on exchanges! I stayed here in our area, and Hermana Barnes came with me. It was such a fun day, and we saw so many different miracles. We had a lesson with our friend, and she was able to receive a priesthood blessing. It was a very powerful, spiritual experience for her and for us. Then, she came to church on Sunday!! We also ...
