Chapter 65: Joy To The World

Hello everyone!

This week we were able to have a really good lesson with our friend Muhoza and her family. We talked about how Jesus Christ understands us, and how He wants us to follow His example. Which led us to talking about baptism! We taught them about the Holy Ghost and how we can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost once we are baptized. We invited Muhoza and two of her siblings to get baptized, and they said that it is something they want, but that they will have to talk to their parents about it. Please keep them in their prayers, so they can get baptized soon!

We were able to have an amazing temple tour this week! A returning member of the church, Julia, came in with her boyfriend, Christian. It was such a Spirit filled tour, and Julia bore such powerful testimony about the Gospel and about the temple. Christian had lots of really good questions, and he said that he really likes how we can make covenants with God that hold us to a higher standard. It was a wonderful experience, and I hope that he will be able to get baptized soon, so they can go inside the temple together.

The Visitors' Center has been having Christmas Concerts these past couple of weeks, and the missionaries got to perform at two of them this past week. It was so amazing to hear all of the beautiful music that turns our thoughts and hearts towards Jesus Christ and His birth. The Spirit was so strong, and as I sang, I felt the love that our Savior has for me and for everyone else. It was so much fun, and I'm so glad I got to participate in praising Jesus Christ through song.

Because of Christmas being next week, our transfer was only five weeks so it is already over! It feels like I just got here to Gresham, so these past couple of weeks have flown by. I am staying here in the Glendoveer Ward, but Sister Webb is leaving. I have loved serving with her and she is such an amazing missionary and friend. I won't know who my new companion is until Wednesday, so stay tuned for the news!

Spiritual Thought: This Christmas, I have loved hearing all the Christmas songs that are being played. I love the line in Joy to the World where it talks about us preparing room in our heart for Jesus Christ. I know that it can be hard in the crazy world that we live in to prepare room for Him, but it is so important that we do. I want to invite all of you to take time to prepare a spot in your heart for Jesus Christ during Christmas and all year round.

I love you all! My next p-day will be on Christmas Day, so I hope you have a great week and a Merry Christmas!

Love,
- Sister Willie
