Chapter 6: The Best News Yet!

Image
Hello everyone! This week has been pretty great!  We got to give some pretty amazing tours at the Visitor's Center this week. One was with a young man named Britton. He was really cool! We talked about temples and the covenants we make, and then I got to extend the invitation at the end. I was kind of stressed, but I did it! Then our other tour was with an amazing woman named Amanda Rose. She actually set the tour up herself and then invited the missionaries to come. She has such a desire to learn, and she brought some incredible friends with her that just bore their testimonies the whole time. It was amazing! Hopefully she will be baptized soon, because that is her next step. Like always, VC days are my favorite! Being near the temple is such an amazing blessing.  Updates about Bob! Bob is such a groovy guy. We went to drop off some cookies at his apartment the other day, and he ended up playing us a song he wrote. It was really awesome! Then he came to the ward trunk or trea...

Chapter 5: What Even Happened This Week?

Hello everyone! I had to look in my journal to figure out what happened this week because I don't remember haha.  On Wednesday, we got to give a tour at the Visitor's Center to a sweet old lady named Marilyn. We just spoke about temples and the importance of covenants. It was such a good tour, and it was nice because you could tell that it really touched her. I just love the temple!  We also got to do a lot of service this week. We got to help rake leaves, pick up apples, and I got to mow some guys lawn. But the lawn mower was a push mower, so it was a workout just to get that thing moving. Even though it was a lot of work, it was nice to help each of them.  Then we got to give a tour to our friend Bob. It was so amazing! We had one of our members come with us, and he basically taught the lesson for us. His testimony was so strong, and he really connected with Bob. It was so good, and then Bob came to church on Sunday!! He seems to really enjoy church. He has told us that...

Chapter 4: Bragg, Building Beds, Bob, And Baptism

Hello everyone! This week was kind of chill but kind of crazy at the same time.    On Wednesday, we got to give a tour of the Visitor's Center to a group of 8-12 year old boys from one of the wards around here. They were so cute, and we talked about covenants. And I taught them some hand signs to remember their baptismal covenants, and it was so much fun!    Then on Thursday, we had a mission wide conference with President Bragg of the Seventy!! He is in charge of the northwestern missions, and he came to speak to us. It was literally so amazing! We mainly talked about how important it is to teach our friends about the Sabbath Day and invite them to church. So cool story, while he was speaking I kept thinking about our friend Bob. After the conference was over, we decided to text him and invite him to church, and he said yes!!! It was so cool to see how important it is to act on spiritual promptings. Anyways, that night we got home and decided to bake an apple pie at...

Chapter 3- He Was Lying On The Ground... Bloody, Haha

Hey everyone! This week has been crazy but so good.    We were finally able to have a lesson with our friend Sean, and it was so amazing! We talked about prayer and the Book of Mormon. Then we invited him to come to church, and he said yes!!! And guess what, he actually came!!! And the talks given in sacrament meeting were amazing and exactly what he needed. Then he said that elders quorum went amazing too, and he would definitely be back next week! It is so exciting!    Anyways, really quick, we went to have a lesson with some members, and they had the cutest little dog named Reggie. And he came and laid right next to me and I just pet him the whole time we were talking. It gave me a little piece of home, because one of our dogs used to lay next to me.    Anyways, then on Friday, we had a zone training with Sister Botchway. She is the mission president's wife. We spent the whole time practicing how to invite people to be baptized, and she made the newest m...

Chapter 2: Think Celestial

Hey everyone! This past week has been so busy, which is good.    On Wednesdays, I get to work at the Temple Visitor's Center, and I gave my first tour last Wednesday. And it was so awesome! The couple that came in were so excited to learn about eternal families, and the husband kept saying how our message was so full of hope. It was so amazing, and the Spirit was so strong during the tour. It was so cool to see the light of Christ in him. He is on date to be baptized, and it is so exciting! It is amazing to see how the Gospel can change people's lives.    On Thursday I had my very first zone conference! It was just amazing to be surrounded by missionaries as we listened to our mission president and his wife talk. The messages that were shared were exactly what I needed to hear.    Anyways, we were able to do a bunch of service for people this week, which is so fun! One is a man in our ward, who's dad was a jazz musician in Hollywood. We are helping him sort...
